March 2025 President’s Update

Greeting NACVSO Members and Strategic Partners,

As we step into March, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the uncertainty many of you—and the veterans we serve—may be feeling. Over the past few weeks, I’ve received numerous calls and messages expressing concerns about the news and what it might mean for NACVSO, its members, and the veterans' community. While some questions remain unanswered, one thing is certain: NACVSO leadership will continue to stand firm as the nation’s leading advocate for veterans, committed to strengthening the role of service officers in changing lives for the better.

Our voice on Capitol Hill remains strong. Just last week, Legislative Director Michael McLaughlin testified before the House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committees, reinforcing NACVSO’s key legislative objectives. His testimony underscored our unwavering commitment to advancing policies that benefit veterans and those who serve them. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to watch the testimony here, beginning at the 2:33:33 time mark.

An invitation to testify before Congress is no small achievement--it’s proof that our advocacy is making an impact. That’s why the upcoming NACVSO Leadership Summit is so important. This year’s event, held April 6–10, is a critical opportunity for us to shape the future of veteran advocacy, and I urge you to ensure your delegates are signed up and ready to contribute to the conversation.

Change is inevitable with every new administration, but it is nothing new to us. NACVSO will continue to pursue policies and actions that benefit veterans and the service officers who support them. Stay focused, stay engaged, and keep up the incredible work.

Warm regards,

Christopher Hinton
President, NACVSO
