Marvin Tawney

I served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for four years between 1993 to 1997. After a few months being out of the Navy, I decided to go into the Marine Corps in the logistic field. I was Landing Support which moved to Logistic Chief once you got up in rank. I retired after a total of 20 years in the armed services. While going to Campbell University for Healthcare Management degree, I was the President of the Veterans Club and also a work-study for Harnett County Veterans Services. During my time as a work-study with Harnett County, I found my passion for helping veterans and their families. I saw what a Veteran Service Officer does and fell in love with the thought of being a VSO. After completing Campbell University and Fayetteville Tech. Community College, I started my career as a VSO with Lee County in NC in 2019. I am currently working for Harnett County Veterans Services as a VSO in Lillington, NC.
