Professional Bio
In my current role, I serve as the local link and support within an intergovernmental chain serving the over 21 million military veterans of the US. I lead a team of experts in veterans services and veterans benefits. I help veterans gather the necessary paperwork to support claims, file claims and assist in appealing claims that have been denied; requiring both tenacity and passion. I have been working as an accredited service officer since 2011 where I received numerous promotions and rose in the ranks from a Veteran Service Officer, to Veteran Affairs Manager, to my current position as the Director.
Prior to my civilian career, I served in the United States Army from 1990-1993. Once moving into the Army Reserves I began my studies at Eastern Michigan University, where I graduated with honors and earned a BBA, with a concentration in Marketing.
I was raised in Livonia, Michigan and I have been a resident of Saline, Michigan since 2007. Me and my wife, Laurie, have two daughters; Julianne and Elizabeth.
I am also passionate about serving my community. My family and I are active members of St. Andrew’s Parish in Saline, and both of my daughters attend religious education through the church. I also extend my service to my community by actively volunteering at and serving as the Commander for the Saline American Legion Post 322. I was also appointed to, and serves as a Trustee, for the Michigan Association of County Veteran Counselors.
