Carrie Perez

I served in the United States Air Force, Active Duty and then in the Michigan Air National Guard for a total of 9 years from 1997-2006 in Financial Management.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Leadership in 2004 and Master’s Degree in Business Organizational Management in 2005.
I was stationed at Hill Air Force Base, Utah while Active Duty. I served in all sections of Finance and Accounting including Orders Certification, Funds Approval, Contracts Payable and Receivable, Medical Account loads, Travel Pay, Military Pay, and was the Self Aid and Buddy Care trainer for our unit. I also assisted in the inventory and assistance of computer systems and technology and tracking within our unit.
I deployed to Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia in 2000 for Operation Desert Storm as Force Protection while I was Active Duty Air Force.

In 2001, after serving 4 years in Active Duty, I joined the Michigan Air National Guard, Selfridge ANGB where I continued my role in Financial Management. I separated in 2006 after being activated a majority of that time due to 9/11 operations under Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Enduring Freedom.

I also have worked for the USDA Forest Service in Michigan as a Financial Management technician for two years and received forest fire training during that time.

I am a proud parent to four children and I am currently living in one of the most beautiful places in Michigan, where we spend a lot of time in the water or woods that our area in Antrim County is known for.
I enjoy connecting with people, especially my fellow veterans and their families and helping with some of the needs that they may have, including the camaraderie that we often miss from our time in service.
